Report cards have been issued, and I know that there are many pleased parents right now! I am one very, very proud teacher! I appreciate so much the work that the students have done this semester, how many have made major improvements, and the way that many students have worked on their goals of improving their effort marks. Way to go, class! Please be sure to return your report cards on Monday so that we can look at them at the conference. The back cover needs to be signed and the rubric needs to be returned.
I hope that you're all enjoying your weekend! Let's hope that the snow will all be gone soon!
This week report cards will be issued. Students, please remember, report cards are a time to celebrate your successes and think about your goals for our last term of school. A LOT of marks have been accumulated for the report cards and I know that you've worked hard! You'll receive your report card on Friday.
I think that it is accurate to say that March has come in like a lamb! As I look out the window, I can see the snow beginning to melt, and I can't help but get very excited that spring is around the corner! With this thought it mind, it is important to think about playground behaviour. I think many students in our class have "Spring Fever", as there were many playground and classroom problems and incidents this week. Students, please keep in mind that you have been so well-behaved all year - don't ruin that good behaviour with bad choices. Please think before you act and refrain f
I am excited to announce that our second session of CREATE will begin on March 1. This time we will be working with Mr. Crawford and drumming. He connects his drumming to math and social studies.
Thank you to the parents who came to help tie skates on February 17. And thank you to Mrs. Vatamanuk who helped at the last Special Lunch. You time is greatly appreciated.
Hello Grade 1,
Today we are going to look at a site that posts pictures to encourage us to write. This is one that I did.
Now it is your turn to write a sentence about this picture.
First off, I want to thank you all once again SO MUCH for the amazing birthday gesture! I've never had a class put so much effort into making my birthday so special, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart! The flowers are still blooming beautifully and are sitting right in front of me on the table. I will definitely be using the movie gift certificate when I go to Alice in Wonderland this weekend! Thank you, as well, for all of the cards and messages! You guys are the best and I couldn't ask for a better class! :)
Please be aware that in the month of March, the Gr. 6's in Rooms 208 & 209 will be working on their Heritage Fair Projects. The students are researching important events or places in Canadian history. Watch for more information to come on this project.
February is flying by. March begins next week. The Gr. 5's will soon be presenting their brochures on the Canadian provinces and territories. These students have been working with 'Pages' to produce colourful brochures highlighting the province or territory that they studied and researched during the month of February. Watch for your invitation to their presentation in March. Date TBA.
Our week back to school after a long weekend proved to be busy and filled with hard work! The students were able to partake in their first cross-country skiing experience, and from what I gather, it was fun and exhausting! Thanks to Mr. Tranberg for taking the students skiing! Due to the weather, our first session was cancelled. I am waiting to hear back as to if it will be rescheduled, and when.
This week is another short week! I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend. I sure did!
A reminder that tomorrow, February 17, our class will be skating at the Mohan at 10am. We will arrive back to school by lunch time. As a result, we will not have library book exchange. If any parents are able to come and tie up skates, that would be greatly appreciated.
