Now that you have become so good at adding fractions we must use our smarts to subtract fractions.
Try this site to practice subtracting fractions.
Good luck!
Good Morning Students,
Yesterday you were so engaged in class that I thought technology must be a good thing. I found some sites that will help us add fractions. Here is Part 1.
Go to this site.
http://www.visualfractions.com/AddEasy.html
This site requires you to add like fractions. The cool thing about using the computer is that you don't have to draw your manipulative. You work with virtual manipulatives online. You must however record your equation and answer in your notebook. Please do at least 15 of these questions.
Part 2
Today we are going to work with equivalent fractions on line.
I have links to games for you to play to practice what we have been learning in integers.
Comparing Integers - This game has you decide whether integers are the same, greater than or less than.
Good Morning Grade 7,
Please click on the link to this movie and watch it.
All of the pictures in this movie have to do with our next unit on integers. Feel free to look through the unit and watch the movie again (two or three times it you like) and explain how the pictures are related to our unit on integers.
Thank you grade seven's for your help with the presentation today. I had lots and lots of positive comments about your work AND I can't really express in words how much I appreciated your help. I couldn't have put together such a great show without your excellent ideas.
What did you enjoy most about doing this presentation? What did you learn while doing this?
We are studying algebraic expressions. How did the online games help you practice this concept? Write about the differences between an algebraic expression and an equation. You could refer to your notes or perhaps you might even find another website or video that will help explain this.

Traditionally math has been seen as being mainly about number computation. However, reading is also an important skill in math. Comment on reading strategies that you use in math and how the strategies help you understand the math you are doing.
This week we will be launching a literature group novel study. Your group will be required to read a novel, complete role sheets, participate in discussions, write a written response each week and complete an independent project. I think the exciting part of this unit will be not only the group work but the independent work.
For reading class today you and your partner can choose books from the following links. You are partner reading and so remember to take turns reading and have fun.
